The Enphase SSTART-16-32A-1P-230V Soft Starter is a single-phase motor control accessory engineered to reduce electrical and mechanical stress when starting heavy HVAC motors or compressors. By replacing sudden full-power across-the-line starts with a controlled ramp-up, it drastically cuts high locked-rotor inrush currents (LRA) common in air conditioning units, heat pumps, and water pumps.
Crucial for solar PV and battery backup installations, this unit prevents battery inverter overloading, eliminates grid voltage drops, stops light flickering, and minimizes mechanical wear on compressor components.
