The SMA-ESS-RSD01-RSI50 is an external Rapid Shutdown Initiator (RSI) for SMA Home Energy systems. It provides a convenient, remotely located switch to initiate PV rapid shutdown and/or system shutdown, particularly when the inverter and battery are located away from the main electrical service panel. SMA lists the ESS-RSD01-RSI50 as an accessory for its Sunny Boy Smart Energy systems.
