The SMA BU-STRT-US-50 Backup Start Module is an accessory installed in compatible SMA Sunny Boy Smart Energy inverters. It enables backup power/Backup Secure operation during a grid outage by allowing the inverter to start using energy from the PV system or battery, even when the inverter has been completely de-energized.
