The Enphase IQ8Plus-72-M-US is the industry's first microgrid-forming, software-defined microinverter. Part of the revolutionary IQ8 Series, it is designed specifically for high-powered 60-cell, 66-cell, and 72-cell solar modules. With a peak output of 300VA, the IQ8Plus enables Sunlight Backup™ capability, allowing homeowners to maintain power during grid outages even without a battery bank when paired with an Enphase System Controller 2.
Key Functional Features
- Integrated Power Reduction Interface (PRI): Complies with EEG and BDEW standards for grid-mandated export limitation and curtailment.
- Sensor Hub: Directly supports environmental sensors like Irradiance, Module/Ambient Temperature, and Wind Velocity to perform detailed O&M analysis.
- RS485 Conversion: Converts RS485 signals from up to 31 devices into a single Ethernet uplink for simplified network management.
- Third-Party Integration: Can act as a Modbus master to collect data from non-SolarEdge inverters or export data to external SCADA systems using SunSpec protocol.
- Logistics Note: This unit is compact (~1.1 lbs) and replaces the older SE1000-CCG-G. While wireless options (Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Cellular) are supported, the plug-in modules for these connections are typically sold separately.
